The PreConAgri project consists of 5 Work Packages and is expected to be completed by August 2025
WP.1. Designing optimal pathways both between and within the experimental plots
Under the WP.1. the geometric characteristics of the fields and areas will be analyzed taking into account the specificities of each task, optimal routes will be designed both within and outside the fields, that will be followed by agricultural tractors equipped with GPS navigation systems.
WP.2. Designing optimal techniques for reduced or zero tillage, crop rotation, and continuous soil cover
WP.2 will include the design of Conservation Agriculture techniques, that is the identification of optimal reduced or zero tillage techniques, crop rotation, and continuous soil cover based on measurements of organic matter, bulk density, and soil penetration resistance, monitoring the progress of cultivation, conditions, and consultations with local authorities.
WP.3. Designing the implementation of optimal variable rate fertilization practices
In the framework of WP.3, the implementation of optimal variable rate fertilization practices will be designed through the utilization of Smart Agricullture techniques for diagnosing the spatiotemporal fertilization needs of crops based on various vegetation indices and its performance will be evaluated.
WP.4. Pilot implementation of the designed integrated system of Conservation Agriculture and Smart Agriculture
WP.4 will include the pilot implementation of the designed integrated system. The application will be carried out for 3 cropping seasons as follows: a) November ’22 – June ’23, b) November ’23 – June ’24, and c) November ’24 – June ’25.
WP.5. Dissemination actions of the project results
WP.5. is dedicated to the dissemination of the project throughout its duration and to the dissemination of its results both within and outside borders.
